Our Best Bird Houses
Not all birds use bird houses. The most common birds that do are wrens, chickadees, nuthatches, Eastern blue birds, tree swallows & purple martins. Each bird has specific needs as to what size house & size hole. The wrens need only an 1 inch size hole were as the Eastern blue bird need 1 1/2 inches. Most birds will not share a multi-hole house but the purple martins are a community dweller & will use the apartment size house with many holes. Perches are not necessary & allow preditors to get into the nest. Proper drainage & ventilation is important as well as being able to clean out the old nest at the end of the season.
